Topics of interests are the Pattern Recognition, Image Analysis, Content-Based Image Retrieval.

Dr. Nozha Boujemaa: is a director of research at INRIA (Rocquencourt), and leader of the IMEDIA research group. She obtained her PhD in computer science in 1993 and her "Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches" in computer science in 2000. Dr. Boujemaa has authored more than 100 international journal and conference papers. She has served on numerous program committees in international conferences (WWW Multimedia Track, ACM Multimedia, ICPR, IEEE ICIP, IEEE Fuzzy systems, IEEE ICME, CBMI, RIAO...) in the area of visual information retrieval and pattern recognition. She acts as plenary speaker for 4 international conferences. She co-chairs, with James Wang, the "8th ACM SIGMM International Workshop on Multimedia Information Retrieval" in conjunction with ACM Multimedia 2006. She is involved in several European (Muscle, Vitalas, Chorus, Acemedia,Trends, Delos) and national projects covering application areas such as audio-visual archives, photo stocks agency, biodiversity, satellite images and security. Dr. Boujemaa is the Scientific Coordinator of the NoE Muscle (FP6 European Network of Excellence), IP VITALAS (European FP6 Integrated Project), CA CHORUS (European FP6 Coordination Action). She acts as French expert for ICT Domain for COST (intergovernmental network for European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research). Dr. Boujemaa is member of the Steering Board of NEM ETP (Networked and Electronic Media European Technologicy Platform) She has served as a scientific expert for numerous international institutions such as the National Science Foundation and the European Commission as well as French National Parliament Assembly.
