1. Getting there
We are in batiment G of Parc-Club (the A mark in the map below). Click on the image to view it full-size.
From the Le Guichet RER station (bottom right corner):
- By bus:
- Get off the train station. Coming from Paris, you have to cross under the tracks.
- Walk to your right, past a Cafe-Terasse, and at the corner cross to your right. You should see a kindergarden in front of you.
- Walk along the kindergarden fence for 20 m and you should see a narrow passage with stairs going down toward your left. Take that passage.
- The passage will bring you in a wide street with various bus stops on both sides. Cross the street to reach the bus stops on the other side.
- Buses 269-02 (schedule) and 06-07 (schedule, does not run during school holidays) can take you to the stop Parc Club. Ask the driver if a particular bus goes there. It depends on the time of day, and the bus number is an insufficient indication.
- If no bus goes to Parc Club when you need it, ask as a fallback option if they stop at IUT. This corresponds to the roundabout at the extreme upper left of the image (having written Rue Noetzin around it). From there, you can walk (5 minutes approx.)
- By foot:
- Get out of the station and follow the big street in front of you (Rue de Versailles).
- Turn left on Rue de la Colline, which climbs up.
- Turn right when you can no longer climb on Rue de la Colline, on Chemin du Bois des Rames (forest on your left, houses on your right).
- Chemin du Bois des Rames becomes Rue Nicolas Appert (in the open; University building, then large tennis court on your left; houses, then Gendarmerie on your right).
- Rue Nicolas Appert brings you to Parc Club. As you come, on the left of the street there is a bus stop. Building G is just behind the bus stop.
By car:
You should find the N118, exit when crossing D128 (Saclay and others), then take Rue Nicolas Appert. More indications from the INRIA site (caution, the same page provide bus stop information which is out of date!).

Accessing the computer systems
Assuming you have an INRIA LDAP account and the proper ssh parameters set up, from outside INRIA, type:
ssh -p220 gw.futurs.inria.fr
You will thus reach the gateway machine. From there, type:
ssh2 machine.futurs.inria.fr
to access a particular machine inside the domain.
Even better (thanks to Spyros Zoupanos): to log on a Gemo machine on which you can run even X applications, do the following:
ssh -p220 gw.futurs.inria.fr
then
klog
(AFS credentials)
then
ssh -X -p220 gw.futurs.inria.fr
(yes, the same machine!), then
ssh2 -X machine.futurs.inria.fr
Applying for Habilitation a Diriger les Recherches (HDR)
:
The new University (Ecole Doctorale) Web page tells you how. It is very difficult to get somebody to tell you about this Web page.
